VTTI’s Division of Technology Development and Deployment (DTDD) sees the ability of connected vehicles to interact with each other as a major factor in saving time by reducing collisions. The division has provided infrastructure support for projects conducted by other VTTI teams involving connected corridors and additional automated vehicles that would improve interactions with human passengers.
Division director Zeb Bowden believes that financial resources invested in advanced professional development and training will increase our understanding of this topic and enable researchers to become more equipped with dealing with complex technologies such as advanced driver assistance systems.
“These topics move at a million miles an hour,” said Bowden. “These programs would allow us to partner with organizations and create advanced developments to solve problems ahead of time.”
