We welcome public visitors to our School Day and Open House events. If your organization is interested in a group tour outside of those events, please email inquiries@vtti.vt.edu.
The VTTI and VDOT School Day is for students from first grade through college. Every student will have a chance to see the Virginia Smart Roads and other VTTI facilities. Tours range from 45 to 90 minutes. Options are available for a full tour or an abbreviated schedule, depending on grade level, attention span, number of students in the group, and other factors. All students will experience the weather-testing capabilities of the Smart Roads Highway, taking a bus through a simulated rain event on the road.

Individuals, families, and groups are invited once a year to come and take a 45-minute tour of the Virginia Smart Roads and to learn about VTTI research.
