Scott Tidwell is a Senior Field Researcher Technician in the Division of Freight, Transit, & Heavy Vehicle Safety at VTTI. In his over 18-year tenure at VTTI, Scott has worked on a variety of projects related to traffic safety and human factors, including project focused on both heavy and light vehicles. His research has primarily been in the areas of vehicle-to-vehicle communications, vehicle automation, crash warning systems, commercial driver training, vehicle simulation, and human performance evaluation. Scott's past projects include test-track, naturalistic driving, and simulator studies. He has developed extensive knowledge of VTTI's truck simulator and proprietary vehicle instrumentation, including VTTI's data acquisition systems. Scott also maintains a current U.S. Department of Transportation Medical Card and Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker, doubles, triples, and passenger endorsements.
