Greg Beale is a Research Associate with the Division of Data & Analytics. He has experience with radar and LiDAR sensor data analysis that includes point cloud processing, object tracking, and sensor fusion methods. He has also worked on several automotive projects that utilized the ROS [robotic operating system] framework to implement a variety of automated driving features. His latest work focuses on developing a data processing pipeline to identify, track, and record vehicle object data from thousands of LiDAR point cloud recordings. While working on his Master’s degree at Virginia Tech, Greg worked in the Advanced Technologies Department at Continental Automotive before joining VTTI as a researcher. Greg earned his M.S. in engineering mechanics from Virginia Tech and a B.S. in engineering physics from Randolph-Macon College.
