Dr. Liang Shi is a research associate in the Division of Data and Analytics at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI). He earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics at Virginia Tech in 2024, specializing in analysis in high-frequency time-series data, computer vision, and multimodal learning. Dr. Shi also holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Computer Science. His doctoral research included contributions to the fields of computer vision and multimodal learning. Currently, he applies his expertise in statistical data analysis, modeling, and machine learning to various projects at VTTI, focusing on crash detection and multi-modal perception in automated driving systems.
