Tracy McElroy, Project Manager

Center for Public Policy, Partnerships, and Outreach

Mr. Tracy McElroy is a Project Associate in the Center for Public Policy, Partnerships, and Outreach at VTTI. In this role, he is responsible for overall program management, organization and direction for Virginia Tech's Intelligent Infrastructure for Human-Centered Communities (IIHCC) Destination Area. With nearly 20 years of professional expertise in information technology, management, and research institutions, Mr. McElroy is skilled at server, network, security, database, and systems administration, as well as desktop support and project management. He is adept at streamlining administrative processes using technology to improve operational efficiencies, thereby reducing costs. Mr. McElroy has experience working with business intelligence applications, workflow applications, and enterprise-wide systems.

Previously, Mr. McElroy was the Service Performance Director at an industry-trusted provider within the public/private sector in the area IT-as-a-Service and served in leadership roles throughout Virginia Tech, including directing information technology and project management at VTTI.

Mr. McElroy earned his M.A. and B.A. in Curriculum and Instruction - Technology Education from Virginia Tech. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Information Technology. Additionally, he holds a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
