Brian Wotring is a research associate in the Division of Vehicle, Driver & System Safety. Throughout his fourteen-year career, he has participated in or taken the lead on every aspect of a project, from data collection and analyses to report writing. He has completed projects investigating several proprietary interface and warning modalities and conducted evaluations of pre-production and production driver assistance systems. Recently, he has been focusing on improving the driving mobility of rural seniors; a current project involves creating a customized driving plan followed by a consultation with the senior, with the goal of improving driver safety, mobility, and access to needed services. Brian received his M.S. in experimental psychology with an emphasis on human factors from the University of Idaho, where he completed his research on visual perception during low-altitude flight in simulators.
