TRB's 91st Annual Meeting
The Transportation Research Board (TRB) 91st Annual Meeting will be held in Washington, D.C., at the Marriott Wardman Park, Omni Shoreham, and Washington Hilton hotels from January 22-26, 2012. The information-packed program attracts 11,000 transportation professionals from around the world to Washington, D.C. The TRB Annual Meeting program covers all transportation modes, with more than 4,000 presentations in nearly 650 sessions and workshops addressing topics of interest to all attendees-policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions.
The 92nd Annual Meeting is scheduled for January 13-17, 2013, and will also be held in Washington D.C.
4th ETSI TC ITS Workshop
The fourth ETSI Workshop on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is scheduled for February 7-9, 2012. The event will be hosted by QU Wireless Innovations Center (QUWIC) in the city of Doha, Qatar.
The workshop aims to present the progress made with regard to Cooperative ITS where the 1st release of ETSI standards are close to finalization. Field Operational Tests will have been finalized and the results will contribute to the validation and fine-tuning of the standards having been elaborated so far. In addition, expertise gathered by implementing and deploying Cooperative ITS standards will also contribute to that effect.
The mission of ETSI's Intelligent Transport Systems Technical Committee (TC ITS) is the creation and maintenance of standards and specifications for the use of information and communications technologies in intelligent transport systems to be deployed across the world, for example vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadside communications.
18th Annual ITSVA Convention & Exposition
The ITSVA Annual Convention & Exposition will be held April 18-20, 2012 at the Omni Hotel in Richmond.
ITSVA is the Intelligent Transportation Society of Virginia. ITSVA works collectively with State, county, and local governments in Virginia to utilize technology to develop and grow the best transportation system that finite resources can buy. Taking advantage of advanced transportation technologies is essential to constantly improving Virginians' quality of life. ITSVA is intended to serve as a forum within which public and private organizations can work cooperatively to advance intelligent transportation technology in the Commonwealth. It is a public/private partnership striving to promote the deployment of ITS technology and improve public awareness of the benefits of technology for transportation.
Lifesavers 30th National Conference
The 2012 National Conference on Highway Safety Priorities will take place in Orlando, Florida at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels from June 14-16, 2012.
Lifesavers is the premier national highway safety meeting in the United States dedicated to reducing the tragic toll of deaths and injuries on our nation's roadways. Starting in the early 1980s, the Lifesavers conference attendance has grown steadily, drawing nearly 1,800 participants in 2011. Each year, the Lifesavers Conference provides a forum that delivers relevant and timely common-sense solutions to today's critical highway safety problems.
The conference addresses a wide range of safety topics, from child passenger safety and occupant protection to roadway and vehicle safety and technology. It offers the latest information on advances in highway safety, highlights successful programs, and draws attention to emerging safety issues.
Lifesavers is a non-profit organization with no single sponsor, and relies on the involvement of diverse private and public groups who share the common goal of improving highway safety.
C.A.R.E. Conference 2012
The 2012 International C.A.R.E. Conference will take place at the Hilton Waterfront in Burlington, Vermont from September 16-19, 2012. This year’s conference is being hosted by the Vermont State Police.
Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) involves State Law Enforcement Agencies who have joined together in the endeavor of reducing human suffering on our highways, particularly during the national holidays. It is a combined effort to deter the three key causes of highway fatalities: speeding, impaired driving and failure to use occupant restraints.
HFES's 56th Annual Meeting
The 2012 Annual Meeting of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society will take place at the Westin Boston Waterfront, Boston, Massachusetts from October 22-26, 2012.
Last year’s conference was held at the Red Rock Hotel, Las Vegas from September 19-23 and was attended by more than 1,380 members and nonmembers from the United States and around the world.
